For many years, scholars in humanities and social sciences have been noting that the knowledge created from digital devices proceeds from material inscriptions that actually skew them. Thus, the critique of the digital humanities shows that the mirage of algorithmic explanation is no longer enough; disorder is constitutive of both human behavior and social facts, and this is what this issue intends to analyze, in the wake of the critical and heuristic positioning of digital studies.
