In Suzanne et le Pacifique, Paris represents a fleeting stage in Suzanne’s adventure, a necessary narrative transition before the young woman embarks on her voyage around the world. However, while Suzanne’s adventure elicits many reflections on the adventures of writing, the journey through Paris and its banlieues is integral to the genesis of this writing and its modernity, including that of Juliette au pays des hommes, “declaring” its jubilatory poetic dimension.
