This article looks at Giraudoux’s press articles and the books Pleins Pouvoirs and Sans Pouvoir from the perspective of what journalists were writing at the time—a frequent source of inspiration for the author. Sometimes this resulted in lengthy responses, sometimes he limited himself to citing a place or an urban development venture. Making a more detailed comparison proves an interesting exercise, revealing a Giraudoux keen to delve into the daily press and animate public debate.
