The first edition of the Revue de littérature comparée, in 1921, contained two new works by Nodier published by Jean Larat. Starting from this pivotal moment, the volume’s introduction attempts to measure Nodier’s contribution to French comparatism, as it appeared at the beginning of the nineteenth century, as it was presented in 1921 by Baldensperger, the founder of the Revue de littérature comparée, and as it appears today.
