This study allows us to rediscover Barthélemy Aneau, a figure who marked the Renaissance in Lyon but has remained little-known. A pedagogue inspired by Erasmus who wrote on numerous subjects, he attempted to link the invention of new approaches to an intelligent respect for tradition and an enlightened use of the authorities.
