AB  - One often hears claims that if literature has any future it will be off the page; and yet books are far from having disappeared. Not only are new forms of books constantly being invented, but existing texts are also repeated, reworked, reappropriated or republished – a reality central to literary history, but generally neglected by scholarship. The goal of this issue is to study such remakes in order to shed light on the posterity of a given text, and to underline the role it plays in the creation of new literary works, beyond the better known practices of intertextuality and hypertextuality.
