AB  - Richard Powers offers with Galatea 2.2. a redesign of the myth of Pygmalion and Galatea in the light of artificial intelligence. The novel, however, questions less the capacity of machines to "think" than to explore the always problematic relationship between nature and artifice. In the age of artificial neural networks, the question is no longer that of the relationship between reality and the copy but that of the simulation that informs the writing of the novel.
