Moreover, ­Malebranche’s Conversations chrétiennes represent an obvious model for her Magasins and Les Américaines. To give the majority of her ­contemporaries and in particular to try to give to girls and women “esprits géométriques”, she updates Cartesian philosophy and she reveals herself as a Christian philosopher of the Enlightenment.
