AB  - As a learned man, Charles Maurras (1868-1952) knew all the discourses on Dante’s Divine Comedy elaborated by French writers and scholars in the 19th century. As a theorist of ultra nationalism, he paradoxically used the poem and the poet’s figure in ideological terms, aiming to give a moral exhortation in the French political situation of the ’20.
