AB  - Using unpublished documents preserved in Russian and French archives, this article studies the “hagiographie marxiste” of Henri Barbusse. After unsuccessful attempts to have Meyerhold’s theater perform Jésus contre Dieu. Mystère avec cinéma et musique (1927), the writer reused elements of his play in the script for the film Les Créateurs (1935), dedicated to Stalin, a project that also did not come to fruition. However, his biography forged the canon that would sacralize the little father of nations.
