AB  - By analyzing Pascal’s influence on Laforgue’s early writings, this study highlights the ontological crisis that the poet goes through from 1879 to 1881 and seeks to understand how Le Sanglot de la Terre tries to refocus poetry on the question of being, to bring it back to the very source of astonishment. Anxiety will be studied in this work less as a commonplace than as an experience that connects an ontology to a poetics. In short, Laforgue’s work contains a crisis on rue Berthollet.
