Printed mainly by the Parisian bookseller Thomas Richard, they were widely distributed in France and abroad. This article analyzes this little-known corpus of eulogy booklets marked by the influence of Ronsard’s Discours, and identifies the motives, actors, and consequences of the Catholic response.
