AB  - The French National Library’s album Rothschild 3197, established circa 1570, presents a panorama of sixteenth-century love poetry. In it are poets from “la Pléiade” (Ronsard, Du Bellay, Baïf, etc.), and especially poets who were in vogue, such as Desportes and Passerat, whose work had not yet been printed. The album is of prime importance for observing the manuscript genesis of their individual works and for reconstructing the cultural practices of the worldly public that were involved in the aesthetic of préciosité.
