AB  - As a British Treasury official, Hawtrey participated in the 1922 Genoa Conference, for which he drafted the resolutions of the Finance Committee. This article aims to capture the interaction between Hawtrey's monetary theory and his recommendations for restoring an international monetary order. We will show that the agenda of the Genoa Conference is the product of Hawtrey's expertise, and we will try to understand its theoretical nature and its significance in terms of monetary policy.
