In order to account for these links, a rereading of the notion of utopia and its evolution since Thomas More's founding text seems necessary. We will then introduce the notion of a laboratory utopia, a laboratory for technological innovations but also for certain key aspects of productive organization and thus of the economy. Coming back to the present, we will finally question the ambiguities of the calls to utopia that can be heard from the West American Silicon Valley to the European alternative movements.
