AB  - The Swede Algot Ruhe (1867–1944), who from 1910 popularized the philosophy of Bergson in his native country, was able to enter Proust’s bedchamber in 1921. This led to articles describing the event and its transposition to a 1923 novel, all published in Sweden. Extracts from the novel and the articles, the translations of which are gathered here, offered a complementary picture (the fiction providing more precise testimony than the articles), while Algot Ruhe made an appearance in La Recherche as “the Norwegian philosopher.”
