AB  - Although parts of Le Temps retrouvé were conceived or reworked at different dates, the strength of the work lends them a coherence in hindsight. The sociology of the novel reaches its terminal point, staging a beyond of Proust’s life, and inviting us to wonder if the book that the hero will write is the one that the narrator completes. When at last exposed, the aesthetic philosophy never detaches itself from the novelistic fabric. Even the unexpected had been foreseen.
