AB  - À la recherche du temps perdu is a unique fictional cycle, one that is split however into seven volumes. Du côté de chez Swann, the first act of this literary fresco is in itself a part of the whole and a collection of fragments from short genres. In this narration, Proust lists several short forms. He brings out their respective functions, correcting the impression of being bogged down in the particular construction of this edifice where “the compass is opened so wide.”
