AB  - What is said of the epigram in the writings of Proust and in studies of la Recherche is a clue to the role of this stylistic template. Several of the formal characteristics of short narratives are close to those of the epigram and in particular to its point: breaks in enunciation, contradictions, and climaxes. The effects of this emphasis, the tools of irony of the socialite and the satire of the narrator, are also close to the epigram, and even enrich it with a hint of analysis.
