AB  - Once one takes an interest in Marcel Proust’s mental library, the chroniclers can only assume a prominent position. From his readings, Marcel Proust appropriates the aristocratic memory of past centuries and turns it into aesthetic and novelistic material. This intertextuality makes it possible to question the great Proustian themes: the fantasized relationship with the real, the fascination with and doubts about the aristocratic society of his era, the omnipresence of Time.
