It is through the transcription of childhood places that his poetry infuses Proust's pen, contaminated by reverie. In this way, the impulses of the young Proustian heroes acquire the romantic accents of René and François-René. But Proust the pasticheur is never very far away and knows how to distance himself from his models. His relationship with Chateaubriand is doubtless more complex than it seems.
