AB  - Bossuet was not only a preacher, a panegyrist, a royal tutor, and a historian, but being such a versatile and cultured author, he was also a bishop, an erudite scholar and an exegete. In his Supplenda in Psalmos, he takes part in exegetical debates which involve many scholars of his time. He takes a stand against an influential Flemish scholar, Hugo Grotius, imbued with Arminian exegesis, whom Bossuet accuses here of the heresy of Socinianism.
