AB  - To mark the four hundredth anniversary of Molière's birth, a conference entitled "Molière and Religion" was held in Paris in June 2022. Opening the proceedings of this event, the introduction presents the issues at stake in the dynamic representation of religion in Molière's work. It suggests to unite these issues under the banner of a hermeneutic of prudence.
