AB  - French metrical meta-language underwent significant changes in the sixteenth century. Some of these changes were in the direction of a greater rationalisation of terminology (a reduction in synonyms, polysemantic terms, or terms used in different areas). But they were also noticeable in the emergence of new lexicons, ­constructed through metaphors drawing on anatomy and astronomy, developing the valorising analogy of the poem and body or poem and universe.
