AB  - Barbey d’Aurevilly is a glimmering prism, a hall of mirrors, in which we can make out some reflections. Among them, and not without significance, is a Spanish mask that is highly revealing of one of the facets of the writer’s personality. In this staging of the dandy writer, the Spanish costume functions as an outer layer, a disguise, as well as an underside that is revealed during the game of autobiographical texts, as one turns over a playing card.
