AB  - The novels of the Tunisian writer Šukrī al-Mabẖūt suggest exploring (in fiction) the concept of commitment by making it a specific attribute of a character who appears in three novels from the same fictional universe. This study aims to understand how the author uses narrative tools (transfictionality, poetics of the character…) to produce a “thesis” about the impossibility of political commitment in a corruption-ridden society.
