AB  - A survey of paremiological-poetic lexical dictionaries and compendiums, as well as legal literature from the classical period, returns an image of a body that is, by turns, lexicographical, nomenclatural, metaphorical, or legal, but which does not coincide with the anatomical body. This examination reveals the body as it is reconstructed by the mind in the order of speech and law: a scattered, fragmentary being that clearly resembles what the individual allows to be seen of his person in the gaze of others.
