AB  - This analysis of Muḏakkarāt imra’ a ġayr wāqi‘iyya reveals the heroine’s dilemma: she is caught between her profound aspirations and her submission to the Other, between the dispossession of her identity and the fact of being “possessed” by a “being” beyond her. How does the marginality imposed on this heroine, and considered the norm, by the collective manifest itself? And, inversely, how can this imposed exclusion become a reclaimed and chosen marginality?
