AB  - This study aims to investigate an issue related to orthography, more specifically, the variable use of the hyphen in words presenting the prefix “éco”. Our analysis will be ­conducted via the use of online dictionaries and via a ­comparison between and among these online sources. But does the dictionary, which can be seen as the didactic work based on precision and correctness, provide the key to the orthographic issue raised? This is the fundamental question at the heart of our exploration.
