TY - ECHAP TI - Une phrase ciselée Destin d'une métaphore d'Aristophane à Olivier Cadiot DO - 10.15122/isbn.978-2-406-08188-3.p.0255 SN - 978-2-406-08188-3 AB - Praising a work which has been carefully « chiseled » by its author is a very common cliché nowadays. Considering some rhetoric treatises, prefaces, poems, as well as literary pages of reviews, one studies the meta-poetical use of the verb « to chisel » and its links with other metaphors. The author tries to answer the following questions : how to explain the success of this metaphor after 1830, and its puzzling non-use before ? What may we conclude about the spreading of its different uses and their different meanings ? PY - 2019 DA - 2019/06/05 DP - Classiques Garnier PB - Classiques Garnier Y2 - 2024/07/02 ER -
