AB  - To analyze the self-portrait created by Molière in L’Impromptu de Versailles, critics have generally chosen either a polemical or biographical perspective. While reevaluating these two critical traditions, this article proposes a different approach, one that is fundamentally dramaturgical. We thus examine a self-portrait that is consciously comic, ironic, even self-derisive. In other words, we discover a Molière staged as a Moliéresque character.
