TY - EJOUR TI - Jean-Philippe Toussaint, or Writing After Beckett T2 - La Revue des lettres modernes 2020 – 9. Samuel Beckett, un écrivain de l’abstraction ? DO - 10.15122/isbn.978-2-406-11051-4.p.0309 SN - 0035-2136 AB - Since 1985, Jean-Philippe Toussaint has published a dozen novels with Éditions de Minuit. Among his favourite authors, Beckett is the only one he recognises as being a model. His first works were inspired by Molloy, Malone Dies and The Unnamable. After having established this, we shall see that, if after 2000, this influence is weaker, Beckett’s writing nonetheless continues, even today, to pervade the Belgian’s novelist’s imaginary and style.
