AB  - A brief glance at the author’s everyday life, as the selected letters present it, leads to a study of the come-and-go movement that reproduces the basic pattern of his work: as they cross each other, the writings create a between position. This is then transformed, as it is linked to a space symbolised by nails. At the beginning of Beckett’s career as a writer, this space represented that of a secret enjoyment but, progressively, it is transformed into a place of torment, into a veritable ordeal.
