AB  - In the Enlightenment, the spread of so-called clandestine philosophical manuscripts can be measured by studying the sales catalogues published in Paris under the control of the police and the Syndicat des Libraires (Booksellers’ Union). They were presented according to a predefined thematic classification of “heterodox theology.” Old manuscripts (from Servet to Postel) were included in a category of items for bibliophiles, which allowed modern productions to be discreetly integrated among them.
