Its author, Eustorg de Beaulieu moved to Geneva from Lyon, then settled in the Pays de Vaud and ended his days in Basel. “Converting” some literary genres as he himself converted to the Reformation, he engaged himself in religious propaganda. His book is intended to be a spiritual guide, but also a biblical reading guide.
