TY - ECHAP A1 - Vissière, Laurent TI - Goûter la ville - Réflexions sur la poésie ambulatoire de Paris au Moyen Âge T3 - Medieval civilization, n° 9 in Rencontres M1 - 77 DO - 10.15122/isbn.978-2-8124-2129-7.p.0277 SN - 978-2-8124-2129-7 SP - 277 EP - 292 AB - From the thirteenth century onwards, Parisian clerks entertained themselves by making their towns the subject of colourful poems. Many of these texts – notably Dit des rues de Paris by Guillot de Paris, the anonymous Rues de Paris en vers, and the Dit des Crieries de Paris by Guillaume de La Villeneuve – resemble a poetic stroll about the bustling city. The object of this “walking poetry” is not to praise the monuments of Paris but rather evoke the city’s daily atmosphere.
