Traces can be found in texts by the monks of Saint-Denis, Eustache Deschamps, and Thomas III de Saluces. Chronicles, lyrics, romances: these joint perspectives on the feast provide a rare opportunity to study the varied ways in which different genres treat historical reality, by giving meaning to events through interpertation and/or by the emotional charge which the discursive form creates.
