AB  - This study focuses on the forms and stakes of popular speech in Claudel’s dramatic language. The corpus takes the two extremes of his theatrical œuvre : the symbolist dramas and the late works. In his texts, popular language coexists with literary and poetic values but, in the later theatre, it also contains metaphysical significance, which constitutes the singularity of Claudel’s use of this language in the context of twentieth-century literature.
