AB  - This article explains the connections that have existed between mechanical science and architectural technique through history using the work of mathematician Francesco Maria Franceschinis from the historiographical and epistemological perspectives: in other words, the relationship between skill and theory. Starting with the thesis of the subordination of technique to science, the study demonstrates the opposite thesis, making science rely on practice, which may result in a mutually supportive relationship between technique and science.
