TY - ECHAP TI - L’imitation de Virgile dans l’Erotopægnion et les Eclogæ de Girolamo Angeriano T3 - Readings from the Latin Renaissance, n° 11 DO - 10.15122/isbn.978-2-406-07315-4.p.0313 SN - 978-2-406-07315-4 AB - Virgil’s most imitated loci by Girolamo Angeriano are Buc. II, VII, VIII, XI and Aen. I and IV but an evolution is to be noticed from an allusive, dramatic imitation in his Erotopaegnion to a more stylistic one in his Eclogae, where Virgil is associated to his own model Theocritus as to his contemporary imitations in Pontano’s Eclogae and Sannazaro’s Eclogae piscatoriae, a claim of Angeriano’s belonging to a circle of bucolic poets that is most likely the pontanian academy.
