AB  - Giano Anisio, a member of the Accademia Pontaniana’s “mid-generation’, started his poetic career under Pontano’s and Sannazaro’s shadow, once Naples under Spanish rule. Among the poetic genres and meters he experienced, a particular attention should be paid to six eclogues included in his collection entitled Varia poemata (1531): they testify to a peculiar blending of classical and modern influences ranging from Vergil to his own Neapolitan masters, Pontano and Sannazaro.
