AB  - Romaine Wolf-Bonvin analyses the representation of the door motif – porte and huis – in the fabliaux by gathering their occurrences, which the NRCF facilitates. She draws the conclusion that the physical threshold of the short narrative, associated with the isotopy of the dwelling, marks the passage from the anonymous social sphere to an individual one. Doors and gates point towards an entire interior world which holds the women of the fabliaux prisoner and calls for the transgression of the intimate space, be it the domestic world or the female body.
