AB  - Very well known for his intensive and brilliant use of metaphors, Ronsard is little less known for the one of the periphrasis, which nevertheless constitutes a major resource of his poetics. This article, which is the reworking of a chapter of a more comprehensive book to be published on this topic, takes a close look, on a technical level, at several periphrastic patterns and constructions in Ronsard’s work, trying to outline their consequences on a poetical level.
