AB  - This study analyses the staging of masculine sociability in works by the Inklings, in particular C. S. Lewis and J. R. R. Tolkien. These « fantasy » worlds fashion constructions centred on masculine « togetherness », in which questions of gender, class, and race meet. Narrative strategies promote a national model of masculinity and generate practices through which « fans » extend this sense of community, creating their own « masculinity fictions ».
