AB  - A law entitled Liberté de la Création, Architecture et Patrimoine was voted in 2016 by the French government to determine the way amateur performers may appear on stage. This legal frame emerged after a sixty year-long debate, the first decree dating back to 1953. These two legal texts divide the performing arts landscape in two poles, opposing the amateur performer to the professional one. The study attempts to observe what distinguishes these models, but also what reunites them.
