AB  - This article examines the sets for “Art” and Dieu du carnage by Yasmina Reza. It examines the roles of objects onstage and analyzes the relationship that the protagonists have with them. It shows that male and female characters who compete in debates throughout these pieces end up resembling each other and blending together. Although male superiority seems to prevail in “Art”, with the fall of the curtain at the end of Dieu du carnage, the characters become agendered.
