AB  - Latifa Laâbissi’s Adieu et merci (2013) uses a moveable purple curtain, the play’s only physical mechanism and stage decoration. This article shows that the writing of the space envisaged in the play coincides with an interrogation of the theatrical ritual. The spectator’s gaze probes the curtain, leading to questions about representation(s), in particular that of the ghosts of historical figures summoned by the choreographer.
