After 1697, the Fair took up that repertoire and renewed suicide scenes, not only in the revivals of Italian comedies but also in new plays. Easily transposed, offering a wide range of acting performances, acrobatics or parody, the scene of comical suicide is the perfect example of the influence of Italian drama on the creation of the Fair repertoire.
