From this date, until that of the publication of Ducis’s Œuvres complètes in 1813, the text of Hamlet is in a semi-permanent state of revision. This article looks at the Ducis-Talma correspondence not only to trace the history of the Hamlet text, but also to pin down the nature of the collaboration between “the poet” and “his muse”.
