AB  - This article analyses the superposition of literary and memorial representations of slavery and the Holocaust in L’Étoile noire by Michelle Maillet. Sidonie, a young deported girl from Martinique, connects her experience of the concentration camp with that of her ancestors during slavery. Memories of slavery punctuate this narrative which appears to be an account of the Holocaust. Historical and theoretical reflections (intersectionality) illuminate the text and provide keys to it.
